New York International Latino Film Festival 2009

In the wake of the tragic attack on the World Trade Center, the Rev. Al Sharpton assembled an entourage to travel to Israel and Palestine to meet with leaders on both sides of the Middle East turmoil. Filmmaker Eddie Harris was among those visiting the region, and his camera vividly documents the group’s meetings with Shimon Peres, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of Israel, and Yasser Arafat, President of the Palestine Authority. These candid sessions with the renowned leaders provide the background and history of the Holy Land and the circumstances that have bred mortal enemies. The group also followed the path to Golgotha, where Christ was crucified, capturing the church’s majesty and making this a must-see for any pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
